Brad Gamss, owner and President of Rahl Jewelers, began
his career with Rahl in 1972 as a deliveryman, picking up
repairs in downtown Chicago. He didn't know it at the time,
but he was destined to go on to become a highly successful
entrepreneur in the jewelry business. Due to his knowledge,
hard work, courage and vision, in a few short years he would
come to symbolize the great American success story of the
self made individual.
During the early years, while learning the jewelry business,
Brad started to make connections with experts in the field.
Three years later, Brad used the knowledge he acquired to
obtain a position on the sales staff of Rahl Jewelers, embarking
on a career which, he felt, was his destiny.
 Destiny,
in fact, showed up two years later when Brad was promoted
to store manager. In 1982, the original owner of Rahl Jewelers
decided to retire. Brad seized the opportunity to become the
new owner, bringing fresh ideas and a new marketing approach
to this local establishment. Through cosmetic improvements
made to the store, creative marketing, an aggressive advertising
campaign, an expanded inventory, creating an in-store jewelry
repair shop and instituting various promotions, Rahl Jewelers
took off.
Under Brad's direction and guidance, business grew steadily
and inventory increased to over 10 times that of 1982. With
a rapidly growing inventory came a need for larger quarters.
So in early 1994, when the store next door became available,
expansion became a reality and by May 1994, expansion and
remodeling were complete. In October of 1999, 5 years later,
Rahl Jewelers has once again doubled it size. The new store
is located in 4,000 square feet and only two doors down for
the old location in Tradewinds Plaza. This new store offers
a larger selection and state of the art custom designs.
 The
focus of attention at Rahl Jewelers is on engagement and bridal
sets with the store now having one of the largest selections
in the area, including mall shops. Fine quality diamonds at
lower prices are Rahl's strength. Sizes range from 1/10th
carat up to 5 carats or larger. Rahl Jewelers carries traditional
to top-of-the-line, from basic to unique styles. A large selection
of colored stone jewelry, 14 carat gold earrings, chains and
charms are also available. Watch selections for both men and
women include Movado, Pulsar, ESQ, Raymond Weil, Rado and
Seiko. Other items available include diamond earrings, tennis
bracelets, bridal gifts, large selection of Lladró
and clocks. Services include appraisals and engraving. Whatever
the taste, Rahl can meet the need. At Rahl, the "every
day low prices" are better than most stores' "50%
off prices".
 The
sales staff at Rahl Jewelers is educated and experienced and
is qualified to answer any questions regarding the jewelry
needs of its customers. The on-site staff includes a full-time
European goldsmith who handles repairs and specializes in
wax carvings to create custom designs. A Graduate of Gemologist/Jewelry
design, Tony specializes in transforming outdated jewelry
into fashionable contemporary designs. Tony also excels in
custom design, creating new jewelry from scratch.
